Privacy Policy
This policy explains how LIKR LLC (“LIKR”, “we”, “us”) handles personal information, both on this website and in the LIKR mobile app once it launches. We are the data controller for that information.
This website
This site is a static page. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and has no tracking pixels or advertising networks. We do not collect personal information from visitors here.
Our hosting provider records standard server logs — including IP address, browser user agent, and the pages requested — for security and reliability. We do not use those logs to build profiles of visitors.
If you email us, we receive whatever you put in that email. We use it only to reply to you and, if you asked to be notified about the waiting list, to tell you when it opens. We do not sell or share it.
The LIKR app
The app is not released yet. When it launches, it will collect the information described below, and we will update this policy with anything that changes before release.
Information you give us
- Account details — email address and password. Your password is stored only as a salted cryptographic hash; we never see it.
- Profile information — display name, age, pronouns, bio, and the interest tags you pick.
- Photos — public profile photos, and any private album photos. Private album photos are only ever shown to people you individually approve, and that approval can be withdrawn.
- Verification selfies — used solely to confirm you are a real person matching your photos. They are not shown on your profile.
- Messages — the content of conversations with your matches.
- Safety information — emergency contacts and meetup plans, if you choose to add them.
Information collected automatically
- Approximate location — used to show you people nearby and to decide which cities to launch in. We show other users only a rounded distance, never your coordinates or address.
- Device and usage data — device type, app version, and crash diagnostics, used to keep the app working.
How we use your information
- To create and operate your account.
- To show you relevant profiles and let you match and chat.
- To verify identity, fight fake profiles, and investigate reports of harassment or abuse.
- To provide safety features you have turned on.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Who can see what
Other users see your public profile: name, age, pronouns, bio, tags, public photos, verification badges, and an approximate distance. They do not see your email address, your exact location, or your private album unless you have specifically granted them access.
We share data with service providers who host our infrastructure and send our email, strictly to run the service on our behalf. We may disclose information if legally required, or where we believe it is necessary to prevent serious harm.
Retention
We keep your information while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your profile, photos, and messages, except for the limited records we must keep to comply with the law or to enforce safety bans against people who have been removed for abuse.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. Depending on where you live — including under the GDPR in the UK and EEA, and the CCPA/CPRA in California — you may also have the right to object to or restrict certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise any of these, email waiting@likr.co.
Age requirement
LIKR is strictly for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and we delete any account we find belonging to a minor.
Security
We protect your information with encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and access controls on private photos. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously and will notify you and the relevant authorities of a breach where the law requires it.
Changes to this policy
We will post any changes on this page and update the date above. If a change materially affects your rights, we will tell you directly.
